Religious School
Our children are Judaism’s most important resource and our hopes and dreams for our Jewish future. Our Temple family is dedicated to building a warm, comfortable and positive climate of Jewish experiences and learning for our students.
History & Heritage
This congregation began in the late 1840s when a group of Jewish residents met for services at the home of one Isaac Garretson on South Summer Street (5th Avenue). By 1851, the group organized a Benevolent Society and purchased cemetery property.
Facilities
The Temple, Congregation Ohabai Sholom, moved to its current location in 1955. In the late 1990s, the congregation recognized that it had substantially outgrown its facility of some 35,000 square feet. The renovated synagogue now spans over 60,000 square feet.
