Thanks to all -- artists, volunteers and guests -- who made this event possible.
Stay tuned for the 2010 show!
The Temple Arts Festival is now taking artists' requests to participate in its 2010 juried exhibition & sale.
---
On Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, 2009, the Temple Arts Festival (located next door to the Belle Meade Mansion) held its fifth annual juried exhibition and sale, featuring the works of nearly 50 acclaimed master artists, craftsmen and jewelers from across the country. Over 500 pieces of exceptional, original jewelry and art - glass, ceramics, sculpture, painting, tapestry, drawing, photography, 'outsider art' and more - were offered for purchase. Prizes were awarded for Best of Show, First Place in Two-Dimensional Art, and First Place in Three-Dimensional Art.
With a reputation for eclectic collections of extraordinary works, the Temple Arts Festival enjoys national renown and an enthusiastic following. The collectible works of this year's artists have been displayed in museums, galleries and juried exhibitions nationwide. Many are rarely available in the Nashville area, and over half of the artists are new to the event this year. Featured for sale were works from such well knowns as Sylvia Hyman, Herb Williams, Marlene Rose and Binh Pho.
Art and jewelry were priced from $40 to thousands of dollars, with work appealing to all types of collectors.
Donations from the net proceeds of the Temple Arts Festival were made to Congregation Ohabai Sholom, Nashville, Tennessee’s oldest and largest Jewish congregation. Proceeds from Saturday night’s admissions benefit Room in the Inn, a program through which The Temple and other congregations provide food and shelter to Nashville’s homeless population. Because The Temple is a 501(c)(3) organization, sales tax will not be charged. Up to 40 percent of artwork purchased may qualify as a charitable donation, but patrons are advised to consult with a certified public accountant or tax advisor
HOW TO GET IN EARLY TO THE 2010 SHOW
Advance Purchase Certificates will be available for early entry into the art exhibition & sale.
The certificates are recommended for those willing to commit to a purchase in advance, in exchange for the opportunity to browse the exhibition and make their selections before the general public is admitted. The full value of the certificate can be applied to your purchase.
