Continuing Study & Discussion:

The Temple’s ongoing  groups, offer the opportunity for continued study & discussion.

  • Lunch & Talk with the Rabbi

Meet with Rabbi Schiftan at Loew’s Vanderbilt Plaza for lunch and
stimulating analysis of current events from a Jewish perspective.

  • WRJ Study Circle

This group meets weekly (Thursday @ Noon) to study Torah with Patty Marks.

  • Chevrah Torah

This study group meets weekly on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

The L'dor V'dor Project

Congregation Ohabai Sholom Generation to Generation Project

This is an opportunity for the Temple Family to leave an unprecedented legacy to our grandchildren and great grandchildren.  By your participation in this project you are perpetuating your own life for your descendants who may have never had the chance to know you. 

Just think how wonderful it would be to visit our Temple Archives and be handed a folder that contains your family tree, a questionnaire completed by your great grandparent in his or her own hand, and a letter written to you years before you were born!

The film, "Praying With Lior," a showing for the entire community, in The Temple Sanctuary. Followed by a message from the Filmmaker and Special Selichot Services conducted by Confirmation Students.

Hosted at the home of Patty & Jimmy Marks, 210 Brook Hollow Road. New members and long-time members alike are cordially invited to celebrate the new year at this annual Rosh Hashanah gathering.

Sunday Afternoon, October 5th, 1:00 p.m. - Temple Cemetery Tour

Members of the Cemetery Committee will be conducting tours of our award-winning Cemetery. Tours will take place prior to the Memorial Service that will begin at 2:00 p.m. Please join members of the Board of Trustees as we tour our beautiful Cemetery and learn about its interesting history.

Thursday, October 9th, Break the Fast

Mark your calendars now and plan to break the fast with our Temple Community on October 9th immediately following concluding services. This has become a Temple tradition and is enjoyed by all who participate. The cost is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. Friday, October 24th, 5:45 p.m. - Congregational Simchat Torah Celebration

This special musical Kabbalat Shabbat service will include Simchat Torah festivities, followed by Shabbat Dinner. The cost is $15.00 (adults) and $5.00 Children ages 2-11). Your check or credit card information is your reservation. NO reservations will be taken by phone.
